Senior software engineer - Linux and Cross-platform specialist

MISSION

• Become the expert of cross platform development for all eyeP Media products
• Implement the eyeP Media strategy for cross platform development (components, abstraction layers)
• Setup and maintain the cross platform build framework
• Responsible of porting and delivering product on other platform than Microsoft Windows (Linux, Mac OS)
• Follow-up of subcontracted development (Symbian)
• Report to the VP Engineering

• M.SC degree in computer-related subject, with research or post qualification experience in cross-platform development
• Inquisitive mind, technical curiosity, strongly team-oriented, "getting things done" attitude
• 2+ years of experience with Linux, Mac OS, PocketPC
• Ease of communication, in a multi-departments, multi-cultural and international environment
• Fluent spoken and written English and French

• In-depth knowledge of the following operation system: Linux, Mac OS, PocketPC, Symbian an asset
• Experience in cross platform software development (cross compilation tool chains)
• Programming languages: C, C++, Java; Macromedia Action Script is an asset
• Practical experience with modeling (OO design, UML or others) with diagrams
• Practical experience with software methodologies (RUP or others)
• Practical experience with code management and build systems (CVS, Subversion, Makefile) and POSIX scripting environments (Bash, Cygwin, Python)
• 5+ years of professional experience in the industry; some experience in project management
