Do I have several ways of installing eyeP phones ? Is it possible to install the eyeP Phone from a CD ? |

The eyeP Media softphones are downloadable via a specific link which is provided by eyeP Media or one of its resellers. Once it has been downloaded, it is possible to copy the softphone installation file on a CD and then launch the installation from there. |

How do you configure the softphone with a SIP account ? |
|
Your SIP account provider should have provided to you:
- your <sip_account_name> (e.g sipcom9123)
- your <sip_password> (e.g 123456)
- the <domain_name> (e.g sip.myisp.ch)
To configure our SIP softphone (EPOC), you should fill in the fields as shown below (example):
Enter the name that you want to be displayed into the NAME field:
Name: Alain DUPONT
Enter the URI field with your <sip_account_name> and <domain_name> which MUST be preceeded with the "sip:" prefix :
URI: sip:
Enter your <sip_account_name> into the registration name field :
Registration Name: sipcom9123
Enter your <sip_password> into the registration password field :
Registration Password: XXXXXX
Note: By default, EPOC will automatically ask you to enter a valid SIP account.

What are the reasons for the softphone to consume CPU time while performing video calls ? |
|
Various parameters may seriously increase the CPU time consumption when making video calls :
- The driver of your video camera may use specific features like face tracking, fast face tracking speed and any other features which usually consume lot of CPU time. Note that such features are independent of the eyeP softphone.
- The video format used may also influence the CPU ressources, like the CIF video format. We are working on increasing the softphone performances in this matter but using QCIF format will help you decrease the CPU time.
- Using AMD processor machines will have a higher CPU time consumption than using Intel processor machines.
- You may fine tune the use/negotiation of video CODECs if necessary, by prioritizing your list of CODECs or forcing usage of a specific CODEC. For more information, contact our support center.
- When using a laptop on batteries (not connected on the electrical network), the processor will slow its processing performances.

I can not install the eyeP Phone PDA version and get an error message requesting RunTime VB. How can solve this issue ? |
|
In the latest Pocket PC 2003 versions, the RunTime of Microsoft Visual Basic is no longer included.
You need to download a patch from the following link:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/6/7/e67b873f-7d9f-4ee0-9fde-364218fcfa95/msvbppc.armv4.cab
Once the cab file has been downloaded, all you need to do is to run it directly on your Pocket PC. |
